DISTRICT IX - SUMMER DEMONSTRATIONS AND WORKSHOPS

10:00 AM until 1:30 PM, $15.00 fee for each workshop

                                                               Students are to bring newspaper to cover work space and a bag lunch each time. Coffee, iced tea and desert will be provided.
  June 11th   “Succulent Container Gardens",  Instructors:    Leslie Montwid and Eileen Clawson. Search “Succulent Container Gardens" for ideas, (Succulent Garden Images site has hundreds to view)
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2565 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte 33952 . Students are to bring a small to medium container and some succulent plants. Potting medium and some pass-along small starter plants will be provided..
 
 July 10th    “Garden Glass Sun Reflectors” , Instructor:  Peggy Gallagher/Glenda Dawson , Winter Haven Council of GC: 715 3rd St. NW and Lake Silver, NW, Winter Haven 33881
Search “Images of Glass Flower Garden Art” to get ideas; Students will make a glass art flower. Students are to bring a small to medium plate, smaller plate or bowl to go on top, and a compote or sherbet type piece for center.  The more pieces used the greater the depth. Students also need to bring E600 glue which can be found at Wal-Mart or any of the hardware stores.
To make the flowers, Students will need a minimum of 3 pieces of glass plus a narrow cylinder glass (spice jar, narrow caper or olive jar, etc.) to glue the flower to, so that it can then be placed on a rod.

Armed Forces Day, May 19, 2014

Port Charlotte Garden Club dedicated a new Blue Star Memorial Marker at the Andrew T Jacobson VA Home in Port Charlotte.

 Anne Hudson put togheter this moving honor to the family members of the Port Charlotte Garden Club.
